HP Printer Drivers Setup and Installation

  • All full-feature HP printer drivers are available on the manufacturer’s website
  • You just have to enter the model/name of your printer to identify the most appropriate driver for your operating system
  • Basic drivers are always available with the package in a CD ROM

  • See if the wireless light blinks -> then release the button
  • Thereafter, press the WPS button on the router and release – this should be done in an interval of two minutes
  • The printer and router will now get connected together

Wired Connection

  • Make sure that the network router and the Ethernet cable are functioning before you install the HP Printer Drivers
  • If you do not possess an Ethernet cable, then you may have to obtain one
  • Now, connect the router and the printer with the Ethernet cable

Using Add a Printer Wizard

  • To install the HP Printer Drivers for Windows built-in, you can use the Add a Printer wizard
  • For Windows 10 and 8 operating systems, go to Control Panel -> Devices and Printers ->Add a Printer
  • Then from under the Choose a device or printer to add to this PC ­> select printer name ->Next
  • From here, you just have to follow all the prompts that are displayed on the screen
  • If your printer is not found, the from the Add a device window click on the option at the bottom called The printer I want isn’t listed
  • Thereafter, at the next prompt, click on the radio button against Add a local printer or Network Printer with Manual Settings ->Next
  • Choose the USB0001 port for USB connection -> Click Next ->Windows Update
  • From the Manufacturer choice, click on HP/ Hewlett-Packard / Hewlett Packard as the name is displayed and then click on the HP printer’s name
  • After selecting Next -> follow all prompts on the screen

  • If you have been unable to find the printer, then click on Find a printer by other options -> choose the radio button against Add a printer using a TCP/IP address or hostname ->Next
  • Thereafter, click as follows:
    • Autodetect ->DeviceType -> enter the IP address of the printer in the field ->Next

Note: A wireless Network Test Report will provide you with the printer’s IP address

  • The computer will now connect to the printer -> click on Next -> the printing device with install the HP Printer Drivers
